In the coming year of 2023, India will welcome New Zealand for a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series. Because all of the match dates and venues have been confirmed and declared for December 8, 2022, the BCCI has decided to hold all three ODIs in three different stadiums in India. This ODI series between India and New Zealand in 2023 will be India’s second domestic international session following a three-match T20 and ODI series against Sri Lanka. The ODI series between India and New Zealand in 2023 will serve as the first step in preparing for the upcoming ODI World Cup.
The India vs. New Zealand ODI series 2023 will kick off on January 18, Wednesday, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The teams will then travel to Raipur, where the second match of the series will be played on January 21 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium. Finally, both teams will travel to Indore, Madhya Pradesh, for the final match of the tournament at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore.
Currently, Rohit Sharma is the captain of the Indian cricket team, and he will most likely lead the team in the upcoming ODI series; however, there is no doubt that Tom Latham will lead the Kiwis. Both captains have an excellent ODI record and a wealth of experience. In terms of ICC rankings, New Zealand is currently ranked first, while India is ranked fourth in one-day internationals, so the Men in Blue will need to prepare a strong lineup to face them. So, when the two top-class squads with the world’s top-class performers meet in the limited-overs competition in Jan 2023, it will be fascinating to watch.
