West Indies vs India T20 Series |
India is scheduled to tour West Indies in August 2023 for a 5-match T20I bilateral series. The dates and venues for all the matches have been officially announced by Cricket West Indies.
The series will begin with the first T20I at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad on 3 August, followed by two matches in Providence Stadium, Guyana on 6th and 8th August. The fourth T20I will take place at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida on 12 August, and the series will conclude with the fifth T20I at the same stadium in Florida.
While the captaincy for India’s T20 squad is yet to be officially confirmed, it is highly anticipated that Rohit Sharma will lead the team, with Rahul Dravid as the head coach. West Indies is expected to appoint Rovman Powell as their captain, with coaching guidance from Daren Sammy. Currently, India holds the top position in the ICC T20 team rankings, while West Indies ranks 8th.
Looking back at the previous T20I series between West Indies and India, which took place during India’s tour of West Indies in July-August 2022, India emerged victorious with a 4-1 scoreline. Rohit Sharma led the team with impressive performances from players like Suryakumar Yadav and Arshdeep Singh. Ravi Bishnoi excelled as the leading wicket-taker. For West Indies, Simron Hetmyer showcased his batting prowess, and Obed McCoy stood out as their top wicket-taker.
In their overall T20I head-to-head record, India has the upper hand, having won 17 out of 25 matches against West Indies, with the latter securing victories in 7 matches. West Indies has played a total of 179 T20Is, winning 73 and losing 93, while India has played 199 T20Is, winning 130 and losing 63.

The West Indies vs India Test series will be telecast on Doordarshan Sports (DD Sports) on free cable networks (not on DTH).
Live streaming of the series will be available for free on the JioCinema app and website, as well as on FanCode app and website on a subscription basis.
The matches will start at 7:30 pm Indian time, with Stumps scheduled at 2:30 am. Play, however, can be extended if overs are not completed or due to any stoppage in play for any reason.
