On February 16, 2024, Lahore will witness the commencement of the ninth edition of the HBL PSL. The opening clash will feature two-time champions Lahore Qalandars (in 2022 & 2023) against Islamabad United, also two-time champions (in 2016 & 2018), at the Gaddafi Stadium.

The first ball of the opening match is scheduled to be bowled at 8pm PKT. During double-header events, the afternoon match will commence at 2pm, while the first ball of the evening match will be bowled at 7pm. Matches held during Ramadan will kick off at 9pm.

First Match

The first opening ceremony of the HBL PSL will be held in Lahore, hosted at the PCB’s headquarters, Gaddafi Stadium. Scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm, the ceremony promises a lineup of thrilling performances by acclaimed artists including Arif Lohar, Natasha Baig, pop band Noori, and the singers of the HBL PSL 9 anthem, Ali Zafar and Aima Baig. Spectators can anticipate spectacular fireworks and a captivating laser show to enhance the experience.

Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi to host 34 matches

The HBL PSL 9 will span across four cities: Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, hosting a total of 34 matches for this marquee event. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will be the venue for nine matches, with Lahore Qalandars scheduled to play five matches on their home ground. The picturesque Multan Cricket Stadium will host five matches, all featuring Multan Sultans. The initial leg of the league will take place in Lahore and Multan from February 17 to 27 before shifting to Karachi and Rawalpindi.

Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi will host nine matches from March 2 to 10, with Islamabad United participating in five matches. Peshawar Zalmi will have four of their 10 matches played in Rawalpindi, while Quetta Gladiators will compete in three matches at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.

Karachi’s National Bank Stadium will host 11 matches, culminating with the grand finale on March 18. The home team, Karachi Kings, is set to play a minimum of five matches at this venue, while Quetta Gladiators will have at least three matches at the National Bank Stadium.
