AUS vs PAK T20I 2024 Series – During the second T20I match that took place on Saturday, Australia defeated Pakistan by a score of 13 runs, so securing a 2-0 victory in the three-match series. Spencer Johnson, a seamer from Australia, achieved his first five-wicket haul in international cricket.

After losing Mohammad Rizwan for 16 and Salman Agha for a first-ball duck, Pakistan made a sluggish start and were reeling at 44-4 at one point. Johnson ripped through the top order with three wickets, and Pakistan was attempting to win by chasing 148.
After being dismissed by Matthew Short, Usman Khan scored his first half-century, but he conceded a courageous 52 as Johnson struck again in his last spell. Johnson’s spell was the final one he played.
After that, Johnson got rid of Abbas Afridi for four at the end of the innings, bringing his total to 5-26. Irfan Khan then launched another counterattack with a score of 37 without losing. However, despite the fact that only 16 runs were necessary from the final over, he was unable to get the Pakistan to cross the finish line in 2nd Aus vs Pak T20i 2024.
As a result of Haris Rauf being run out, Pakistan was dismissed with a score of 134.
Pakistan had recovered from an early onslaught by Australia’s opening batsmen to restrict the hosts to 147-9 despite multiple dropped catches because Rauf claimed 4-22 and Abbas Afridi grabbed 3-17. This was accomplished despite the fact that Pakistan had lost several catches.
During the first 15 balls of the match at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Short smashed five boundaries and three sixes between them. This allowed Australia to reach 50 runs in only 3.1 overs, which was a significant accomplishment considering that they had chosen to bat first.
Rauf was able to have Fraser-McGurk caught for twenty while he was attempting a cross-batted hit. Two deliveries later, Sufiyan Muqeem made a diving grab that allowed him to get rid of Josh Inglis, the captain of Pakistan, for a duck. This allowed Pakistan to get back on track.
Short missed a slower one from Abbas Afridi to fall for 32 and Marcus Stoinis was removed by Muqeem for 14 after he had twice survived because to some careless catching by Salman Agha and Shaheen Afridi.
Glenn Maxwell shook off a top-edge that rocked his helmet grill and looked to accelerate but he holed out against Muqeem for 21 to leave Australia in a bit of trouble at 95-5.
Another lost catch, this time by Babar Azam, provided the dangerous Tim David a lifeline and he carted Rauf for two fours in the 15th over before becoming the seamer’s third victim.
Rauf then castled Xavier Bartlett for his 107th T20I wicket to join Shadab Khan atop Pakistan’s all-time chart.
Electing to bat first in front of a huge crowd, Australia clobbered 21 runs in the opening over off Shaheen Shah Afridi. Pakistan won the prior one-day international series 2-1 before a 29-run defeat in the rain-shortened T20 series opener.
The third and final match takes place in Hobart on Monday.
