Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Cricket World Cup 2023

The next ODI cricket match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will take place on Tuesday, October 10th at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad at 1:30 PM. This match is the 8th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Injury-plagued Sri Lanka will face their familiar rivals, Pakistan, on Tuesday, aiming to move on from their loss in the opening match.

Pakistan, despite securing a victory against the Netherlands in their first match, is aware that they need to enhance their performance in the opening batting department.

Both South Asian nations will play their second ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match in Hyderabad, southern India.

Pakistan had a close call against a determined Dutch side in their first match, clinching a win on Friday, accumulating two points and a favorable net run rate for the upcoming Tuesday match.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka experienced a significant defeat, losing by 105 runs to South Africa in New Delhi on Saturday.

Pakistan’s coach, Mickey Arthur, acknowledged his deep understanding of Sri Lanka’s “strengths and weaknesses” due to his two-year stint leading the Asian team.

“Yes, I know their strengths and weaknesses, so we will have plans put in place for all of them,” Arthur told the Agence France-Presse on Monday. “They are a dangerous side, so we will have to be at our best to beat them.”

Pakistan is expected to maintain the same lineup for the match, showing confidence in the out-of-form opener Fakhar Zaman, who managed only 12 runs against the Netherlands.

“I am not worried about his form. He is a good player and is just one innings away from a big score,”

Arthur commented about the only Pakistan batsman to have achieved a double century in ODI cricket.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, drew encouragement from their two-wicket victory against Pakistan last month, a win that propelled them to the Asia Cup final in Colombo.

Captain Dasun Shanaka revealed that his team has struggled with the loss of three frontline bowlers but received a boost when off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana was cleared to play against Pakistan.

“I think he should be available for this game,”

Sri Lanka’s batting coach Naveed Nawaz told reporters.

Unfortunately, Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga were ruled out of the tournament due to injuries.
