New Zealand will take on Bangladesh in ODI 11 of the ongoing 2023 World Cup in Chennai on Friday. New Zealand is currently unbeaten, having defeated England in the tournament opener and then clinching victory against the Netherlands. Last edition's runners-up, New Zealand began their campaign with a nine-wicket victory against England in Ahmedabad. 


They chased down a target of 283 runs, reaching 283/1 in 36.2 overs, thanks to unbeaten centuries from Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra. Conway scored 152* runs off 121 balls, while Ravindra smashed 123* off 96 deliveries. New Zealand's Matt Henry took three wickets to help restrict England to 282/9. Glenn Phillips and Mitchell Santner took two wickets each.


In their second match against the Netherlands, New Zealand secured a 99-run victory. They posted 322/7 in 50 overs, with Will Young top-scoring with 70 runs. In response, the Netherlands were bowled out for 223 runs, with Mitchell Santner taking a five-wicket haul for New Zealand. Matt Henry also completed his three-wicket haul. For the Dutch, Colin Ackermann scored 69 runs off 73 balls.


On the other hand, Bangladesh's World Cup campaign began with a six-wicket win against Afghanistan. Chasing 157 runs, Bangladesh reached 158/4 in 34.4 overs, with Najmul Hossain Shanto (59*) and Mehidy Hasan (57) scoring crucial half-centuries. Mehidy Hasan took three wickets as Afghanistan was bowled out for 156. Shakib Al Hasan and Shoriful Islam also took wickets for Bangladesh.


However, Bangladesh suffered a heavy 137-run defeat in their recent match against England. Chasing 365, they were bowled out for 227, despite half-centuries from Liton Das (76) and Mushfiqur Rahim (51). Reece Topley took four wickets for England, while Dawid Malan scored 140 runs. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow contributed key half-centuries.
