West Indies vs India ODI Series 2023 |
In July–August 2023, the Indian cricket team will pack their bags and travel to the West Indies for an exciting series of three one-day international (ODI) matches. West Indies and India are going to square battle in this exciting bilateral matchup. The famed Kensington Oval in Barbados will host the first two ODIs. And the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago will host the final ODI of the India tour of the West Indies in 2023. The first One Day International (ODI) of the West Indies vs. India ODI series 2023 will be played on July 27, followed by the second and third ODIs on July 29 and August 1, respectively.
India’s most recent trip to the West Indies was in 2022, when Shikhar Dhawan led his team in a three-match ODI series. India narrowly defeated West Indies by three runs in the first one-day international, and then won by two wickets in the follow-up match to win the series. India won the third ODI with a commanding 119-run margin. As a result, India won the series 3-0, and Shubman Gill received the honour of being named Man of the Series for his outstanding 205 run performance. India’s top wicket-takers in the series stood out as Yuzvendra Chahal and Shardul Thakur.
In terms of the teams, Rohit Sharma serves as captain of the Indian ODI team. He’ll probably keep leading the group on the forthcoming tour, which will be coached by the famous Rahul Dravid. The Windies team will be led by Shai Hope on the other side, with the assistance of Daren Sammy’s vast expertise. India now sits in third place and West Indies is in tenth place in the ICC ODI team rankings. Shai Hope, the captain of the West Indies, has a solid track record in one-day internationals. He has participated in more than 100 games and amassed more than 4500 runs with a fantastic batting average of 49+. Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, doesn’t require words to demonstrate his skill with the white balls. He has scored more than 9800 runs in more than 200 ODIs.
India and the West Indies have played each other 139 times in ODIs, with India winning 70 and losing 63 games. India has participated in 1029 matches overall as of June 2023, winning 539 of them and losing 438 of them. West Indies, on the other side, played in 858 ODIs, winning 415 and losing 403.
