| South Africa vs West Indies T20 Series 2023 |
South Africa’s cricket governing body has announced that they will host the West Indies for a three-match T20 series in the months of February and March 2023. The first T20I of the South Africa vs. West Indies T20 series 2023 will take place at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Saturday, March 25, and the second T20 will follow on Sunday, March 26, 2023. After that, both teams will travel to Johannesburg to play the final T20I of the SA vs WI T20 series 2023 on Tuesday, Mar 28 at The Wanderers Stadium.
Most likely, Nicholas Pooran, the current captain of the West Indies T20 team, will serve as the team’s captain in Africa. Temba Bavuma, South Africa’s limited-overs cricket captain, will lead his team. Since making his T20 debut against Pakistan in 2016, Nicholas Pooran has scored 1,398 runs for his team. Temba Bavuma, a middle-order right-handed hitter who has scored 562 runs, on the other hand, bats right-handed. The ICC T20 team rankings currently place West Indies in eighth place and South Africa in fourth.
South Africa and West Indies have competed against one another in 16 T20I matches in T20 cricket, with South Africa having the upper hand by winning 10 of those matches while West Indies could only win six of them. In 160 T20 international appearances overall, South Africa has won 92 games and lost 65 games. West Indies, on the other hand, has played 174 T20 matches as of October 2022 and has won 70 T20Is while losing 91 games. South Africa defeated both countries in the most recent T20 series, which was played in June 2021, by a score of 3-2.
When the West Indies visit South Africa in 2023, it will be interesting to see how they exact revenge for the previous T20 series.
