Bangladesh vs Ireland Test Series 2023 |
Both Bangladesh and Ireland are prepared to play one test match against one another in Bangladesh in the month of April 2023. From April 4–8, 2023, the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur will host the Bangladesh vs. Ireland Test match. Ireland will play its first Test since playing England at Lord’s in 2019, what will be the nation’s fourth Test overall.
Although the Ireland team will undoubtedly find it challenging to compete in Asian settings, the players’ development will greatly benefit from the experience given that they will be playing a lot more cricket in Asia in the coming years. This visit marks a new phase in their relationship because Ireland has never before undergone a veteran trip of this scope.
The BCB and Cricket Ireland have a friendly and good relationship despite the challenges of a busy international schedule, and the two boards have worked together to plan this bilateral meeting.
Since neither team has faced the other in a test match, this series will mark their first head-to-head encounter in Test cricket. Bangladesh has participated in 136 test matches overall, winning 16 of them, losing 102 of them, and drawing 18 tests. Ireland, on the other hand, has played in just three test matches and has lost every one of them.
The 638 runs scored by Bangladesh in a test match against Sri Lanka at Galle International Stadium, Galle, Sri Lanka, on March 8, 2013, are the nation’s highest totals. On the other hand, Pakistan defeated Ireland by 339 runs in a test match on May 11, 2018, at The Village in Dublin, Ireland. Ultimately, Ireland has less test cricket experience than Bangladesh, but they are still capable of changing the tone of the game at any time, making it exciting to watch both teams compete.
