The season that followed the Big Bash League’s first-ever international auction was expected to be fantastic. The first game between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars will take place at Manuka Oval on December 13, 2022, to kick off the 12th season of the BBL, which runs from December 2022 to February 2023. Due to the suspension of the South Africa ODI series, only a small number of well-known Australian athletes can take part in the event for a brief period of time.
The Big Bash League’s 2022–23 season will feature 56 league matches between all teams, followed by 5 knockout games played in various Australian cities. After an elimination round, qualifier round, knockout round, and challenger, the final will be held on February 4.
The Eliminator is scheduled for January 27, the Qualifier and Knockout rounds are set for January 28 and 29, and the BBL Final 2022 is scheduled for February 4.
The Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers both reached the BBL finals in the previous two seasons. By defeating the Scorchers in the ninth iteration, the Sixers took home the championship. Ironically, the Sixers were defeated by Perth to win the cup the year before.

Venues for Big Bash League
Three new stadiums, North Sydney Oval, Cazalys Stadium in Cairns, and Lavington Sports Ground in Albury, will host all of the T20 matches of the BBL 2022. Over the course of the entire season, all eight BBL participating teams will play seven home games and seven away games.
