India will visit Bangladesh in December 2022 to play two test match series
against Bangladesh. The BCCI has already made an announcement with the exact
date and location of the match. The last time India visited Bangladesh was in
2015 for a single test match series, which ended in a draw. The Ban vs Ind
test series 2022 will begin with the first test match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury
Stadium in Chattogram on December 14th, followed by a trip to Dhaka for the
final test of the series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur
on December 22nd.
This test series between Bangladesh and India in 2022 will be an important
part of the ICC World Test Championship and will determine India’s place in
the WTC final. India currently ranks fourth in the ICC World Test Championship
2021-23 with 52.08 points, while Bangladesh ranks ninth with 13.33 points.
Because both teams will compete in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia,
the lineups for the test series have not yet been announced, but Rohit Sharma
will most likely lead the Indian team, while Shakib Al Hasan will captain
Bangladesh. The ICC test team ranking currently has India in second place and
Bangladesh in ninth place.
In terms of test cricket head-to-head, India and Bangladesh have faced each
other in 11 test matches, with India winning 9 of them and drawing the other
two. In the history of test cricket, Bangladesh has never won a match against
India. Overall, Bangladesh has appeared in 134 tests, winning only 11 and
losing 100. India, on the other hand, has competed in 563 tests, winning 168
and losing 174. So, it will be interesting to see how Bangladesh performs in
their own country against India and achieves their first victory.
